I had just this one picture of one of my favorite students and a note that she had written to me. By color blocking I was able to add the two (three because I split the letter in two) and it filled out the page nicely.

Looks like a really complex sticker, or bunch of die cuts for the border right? Nope. It's all digital. That's right! Your computer can make embellishments look this complex and give a 3D illusion. Layout by Kelly Barrow.

I used a very thick, textured, yellow cardboard as an accent piece. Then, I dressed it up with brads and hung it by a ribbon. Try using some kind of specialty paper to dress up your layouts.
When doing a two-page layout, make sure that your pages are matching by using the same patterns and colors.

Remember to use memorabilia in your layouts because where else are you going to put them?

A great layout idea can be centered around a particularly special heirloom. If it is something you don't want to use often because you want to keep it and pass it on then take pictures of it to remember the time you owned whatever it is. A special touch would be a picture of the person who gave you the heirloom included in your layout.

I used everything I could get my hands on at a formal dinner I attended. I kept the invitation, the menu card, the program, even the history printed on the back. I didn't get to take many photos so these keepsakes act as filler.
