Using a Hole Punch Tool
Using a hole punch tool is easy and much more convenient than the old office supply type. With this handy tool, you can adjust the width of the holes and punch a hole anywhere you please. All you need are the following:
- Hole punch tool with the hole width attachment in place.
- Craft mat or cutting board to work on so you don't punch holes into your furniture.
- Hammer
- Any paper you wish to punch a hole through.
- Straight pin for picking out the punched "confetti" that can get lodged inside the attachment.
- A hard surface to work on.
- Place the craft mat down a hard work space (desk, table, floor, etc.) and place your paper over the mat. Make sure that the craft mat is directly under the place where the hole will be punched.
- Take your hole punch tool and place it directly where you wish to have a hole. Hold the tool so it is perpendicular to the paper and the pointed side is down.
- Take a hammer and give it a good whack making sure that the tool pierced through the paper. Repeat if necessary.
- Remove the tool and you have a nice round hole exactly where you wanted one.
After repeated hole punchings, your pointed attachment may become full of "confetti" punched paper and not cut as well. If this happens use a straight pin to pick out the paper bits.
