Chalking

Chalking is very similar to inking in that you are adding a subtle bit of color and interest to your paper or embellishment. It works best with paper, but if you wish to experiment with other items, good for you! You'll need:

  • Colored chalk or pastels
  • Paper
  • Sponge
  • Scratch Paper
  1. Take your sponge and swipe it a few times against the chalk to get some color on it.
  2. Place your paper on a hard surface and over some scratch paper. With your chalked sponge, wipe away from the edge with a quick motion.  Repeat along the edges (you may need more chalk as you go).

So easy! You can also use a cotton swab for smaller items. Now go and experiment with this new learned technique.
